Jennifer Shawe
Owner & Pack Leader
Shawe’s Paws launched in 2008 when Jennifer was only 19 years old!
To say that Jennifer loves animals is an understatement. With her heart set on wanting to become a veterinarian since the age of six, Jen started walking dogs for free around the surrounding neighborhoods of Philadelphia. She was going to keep doing this part-time while going to school to become a vet, but Jen learned that there was an obvious need for knowledgeable pet professionals, and for these professionals to love and care for pets while their parents were at work, on vacation, or otherwise unavailable.
Jen switched career goals, switched into high gear, and built up a large enough clientele to launch Shawe's Paws, LLC over 12 years ago. Since then, Shawe's Paws has dominated the dog walking and pet sitting market throughout Philadelphia.
Jen is grateful that she lives out her dream job. day in and day out.
In her own words, Jennifer states, "I just followed my passion. Literally. It has never been and never will be for the money."
Jennifer has dedicated her life to helping the dogs and cats of Philadelphia.
She has volunteered at shelters in Philadelphia and the surrounding areas and has hopes of opening her own no-kill shelter as well, eventually morphing it into an animal sanctuary.
She offers a free service helping people who want to adopt a dog from shelters; she finds out what the family is looking for and searches the shelters around the US in hopes of finding the perfect match.

Jill
Hey! My name’s Jill! I was offered a job as Operations Manager at Shawe’s Paws after a summer of dog walking in 2019. I work alongside Jen to make sure things move smoothly and that our team, our clients and our four-legged friends are happy and having fun!
As for me personally, I grew up on a farm and have always had a deep connection to nature. From horses to hounds, I’ve always found kinship with animals. I moved to Philadelphia after high school to attend Temple University where I majored in Neuroscience and minored in Clinical Health Psychology. Nowadays I spend my time meditating, cycling around the city, hiking/camping, perfecting my curry making skills, or cuddling with my own pupper, Lumi. Dog walking has become a sort of therapy for me and I’m so grateful to have met so many lovely people and precious fur-babies with Shawe’s Paws.”

My name is Jacob Bonfante and I’ve been working with Jen/ Shawe’s Paws since January of 2018. After spending two years at Temple University I decided to take time off to explore other interests.
I spent a few years working in several restaurants all across the city. From bussing tables all the way up to serving and bartending. The 2am last calls were getting a bit much and I decided to find something that would allow more flexibility; and that’s when Jen and I crossed paths! I’ve always been a dog/animal lover and though I hadn’t worked as a dog walker before, Jen took a chance, and the rest, as they say, is history! The past 2+ years at Shawe’s Paws have been absolutely amazing, and I’ve made many lasting connections with both pups and pup parents alike. When I’m not on the clock you can find me cycling, working out, tossing the frisbee, or [most likely] at home cooking whatever I can get my hands on. I look forward to meeting you, and all of your furry friends in the months and years to come!

My name is Tom, I'm a Philadelphia local and loves of animals of all types! Over the past decade I have had the pleasure of raising and training two adorable little dogs, a rat terrier and a miniature dachshund.
Though my heart belongs to them, I have befriended and cared for other dogs of various shapes and sizes including boxers, labs, chihuahuas, pomeranians, rottweilers and more! I pride myself on my gentle approach to animal care and the love I have for my city and community. As a pet owner myself, I understand the importance of treating your dog like the family member they are and promise to do just that!

Hello! My name is Frozen Belton, my pronouns are they/them/theirs, and I have been a walker for Shawes Paws since the summer of 2018.
I am a graduate of Ursinus College with a bachelor's degree in biology, a minor in psychology with a focus in animal behavior, and I am a current student of CATCH Canine Trainers Academy working to earn my CPDT-KA (Certified Professional Dog Trainer - Knowledge Assessed) certificate. I have been a volunteer puppy raiser for Canine Partners for Life, raising service dogs in training, and have worked in veterinary and kennel positions in the past. But, now I am a proud dog walker and lead trainer for Shawes Paws. I have my own wonderful dog, a 5 year old female English Bull Terrier named Lup (pronounced "Loop"), who has been my constant cuddle companion and training partner since I adopted her from PAWS in December 2019. When I am not working, Lup and I enjoy hanging around our local dog park in southwest Philly, visiting dog friendly outdoor cafes, and training towards her Rally-O and Tricks novice titles. And on the rare occasion I am not accompanied by Lup I enjoy drawing, as well as visiting local museums and farmers markets with my friends from college. I am looking forward to getting to know, and love, all your dogs as much as I already do our current client dogs!
